We are back with Riley Campbell, a local Raleigh high school student, to talk more about financial literacy and educate the next generation. Riley is questioned on who she thinks a big ugly is. Riley explains that it sounds like something gigantic that is not very nice to look at. What does your kids think this term means?
Founder, Jason Steele, explains that a big ugly is slang for the dirty industrial companies that we see like steel, coal, mining and oil. Big uglies are also known as good investments because they produce steady returns. The word, however, means that they are overlooked by many investors due to ethical issues or simply because they are not as trendy as new businesses.
